I guess I'm happy for you that you feel free enough to appreciate the "other side" for its splendor, but I felt uneasy reading your Times of Change section. I speak for the benefit of thousands of otherkin who feel very strongly that announcing our presence out into the open would be a very bad idea and would cause an amount of harm, if that is indeed something that was up for consideration.

I'm really nervous and was hesitant to put this forward, but I feel too strongly that it has to be said. Please don't attempt to announce otherkin to the whole world if that is what you're planning. Why do we need to be "understood" by humanity? Why do we need to be "accepted" along this by those who already accept and embrace us for our other qualities? Sure it's nice to be able to share our experiences with others, and that's why we have forums and gatherings after all.

So many of us are happy with our lives and our developments as humans, and many of our human friends enjoy our company even if they don't know about our secret. But having our true selves revealed by another would cause a great deal of discomfort for both the humans and our fellow otherkin alike. When one of us feels the time has come to open our wings (if applicable ;3 ) before our loved ones, the decision is strictly personal and needs to be handled very delicately.

All we're asking is that the decision be left to individuals. We only want to enjoy our current lives as best we can before our return to the spirits. :3

Imagine that. Flamed by an alien. How ever will we survive?

This magazine embraces diversity. I thought races advanced enough to have "Earth divisions" would also be advanced enough to eschew intolerance. I guess we learn something new every day.

I cannot even begin to comprehend the scope of the drivel you attempt to force your fellow inhabitants of this planet to believe in. Whatever it is you are trying to is a half-arsed clone of practices abandoned in the past milennia, besides being stereotypical staples of local fantasy fiction.

Congratulations, however, on being the third Internet place added to the list I put together since being transferred to serve on Earth.

Hoping you will get a grip on reality,
Sincerely,

Garouzin (equivalent of what you call Captain) Fayoul Khayoun Harwidennu, DTA-UCSA Earth division.
