The image that always comes to my mind is a bicycle with its constant opposition of balance… left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot… and only thereby are you propelled forward. And if you get a good enough rhythm going you don’t even need to hold onto the handlebars! (I think I filled my parable quota for the day)

It seems like you did not even read the article – the whole idea was about moving beyond Good & Evil, not about applying some moral absolutes. You absolutely cannot speak about good without evil, they are intermingled dualities just like the others (Spirit vs. Matter, Death vs. Life, etc. in other parts of this essay)… in short, the whole essay agrees with you yet you seem a bit hostile… “mealy mouthed” “crutches” etc. Perhaps you should read closer (or actually read the article) before you comment?

It sounds to me like you’re having a knee-jerk reaction to a generality — I don’t think IAO131 intends to apply “good & evil” to the Law, but rather intends to show a rather universal example of an unnecessary duality.

The equilibrium is not that of moderation, the Middle Path of Buddha (or the Doctrine of the Mean of Aristotle), where we seek to avoid extremes and remain in the center. The equilibrium of New Aeon Initiation is understood as the balance attained by pushing to both extremes of any duality.

I danced like a fool when I read that part… it’s a concept I have experienced firsthand, and that I strive to convey to anyone who comes to me to learn. (I dislike using the “teacher/student” terminology as I feel that it’s demeaning to one and promotes arrogance in the other.) Balance is dynamic, not static. You must experience both extremes to be able to appreciate life, experience bliss, and inspire gratitude within.

Good and Evil? Moral absolutes applied to the Law. What is Good, and can you tell me anything of Evil without stooping to some morally relative code witch outline ‘bad’ or sinful behavior. in other words, some weak, ‘old Aeon’ set of laws or commandments. Strong will workers do not need these crutches to explain their law. Strong ideas do not require this concept of duality. Please avoid this mealy mouthed wording when justifying your road.
