Volume I
Issue 2 |
|
January
2007 |
Well, we’ve made it to the second issue, a feat doubted by many. With the help of our loyal readers and contributors, we will continue to survive and, hopefully, even thrive. Though we’ve stated our desire to become a significant resource for magicians similar to the way The Witches’ Voice is a resource for Neo-Pagans, it was never our intent to sound arrogant or pompous in our aspiration. We simply feel that the time for such a resource is overdue, and with the wonderfully dedicated people involved in this project, it is our fervent hope that we can fill the niche.
The Yule issue has been archived, and the articles are all still available for reading and commenting. Visit the site map to find links to all articles, columns, and other pages on the site.
Since our last issue there have not been any visible changes in available resources (other than content itself), because we’re a small staff with actual lives and our webmaster had college finals to deal with. We hope to have member profiles ready by February or March issue, including the author profile pages. We’ll keep you updated!
Another thing we hope to get off the ground this coming month is the art gallery. As yet unnamed, the gallery will showcase occult art and artists. Our very own Gerald del Campo will be submitting art for this project. Perhaps you should, too!
The February issue will be released on February 17, 2007. This is also the last date to alert us of your submissions for the March issue. Don’t be shy… if you have an article, graphic, poem, or anything else of magical interest, click the Submissions link to the left and send it in! If you have anything you’d like to see included in the February issue, now’s the time! Submissions will only be accepted through January 30.
“Aleister Crowley said that one’s True Will is one of the crucial things a magician should know, since the True Will is the basis of the being. He goes on to talk at length about how True Will is the culmination of the basic core of the person. It is the most selfish part and is most concerned with …” read more…
“Many people have been curious about our work with the glyph and have interacted with us on a number of levels in an attempt to understand what it is we’re doing. The following is the text of a sort of panel discussion in which these questions are addressed by …” read more…

“When we are born, that part of our brain that holds our identity is a blank slate, waiting to be written on by the impressions of our physical senses. As we age, we acquire more and more experiences, and these are …” read more…
“Recently, I decided to do a grieving ritual for my time in academia. I’d dropped out of my Ph.d in 2005 and for almost a year had not really had a chance to process the emotions over leaving under such circumstances. My wife had …” read more…
“The source of ethics is a subject of much controversy and debate, and I hope that it will always remain that way. The religionists say that ethics are divinely inspired, while the atheists insist that ethics come from being human, the ability to empathize, and a mindful …” read more…
“The five examples listed below represent the most popular forms of ethics used today in everyday life. It will become apparent that each has its strength and weakness. There are numerous more which could not be included here due to the limited …” read more…
“Ever heard of the stereotypical “poor Pagan”? The one who barely lives paycheck to paycheck, drives a hunk o’ junk around because s/he has no credit, and never seems to get ahead? This stereotype, when it comes to money, is justified by the idea that being poor is virtuous. The rationalization is that it’s okay if you’re in debt …” read more…
“It still amazes me that some Wiccans insist on claiming that their religion has existed since time immemorial. That statement is only strictly true if we consider the 1940s to be too far back to recall clearly. Wicca, of course, is only one example of …” read more…
“Paradigm shift” has found uses… representing the notion of a major change in a certain thought-pattern – a radical change in personal beliefs, complex systems or organizations, replacing the former way of thinking or organizing with a radically different way of thinking or organizing …” read more…
“We have lost one of the Great Ones. At 4:50 a.m. local time on January 11, 2007, Robert Anton Wilson passed from this plane and into the realm of Pure Mind. Wilson has been a wide-ranging inspiration for those involved in psychology, occultism …” read more…
“When I read the first half of this book, I wasn’t initially impressed. Tyson did a good job of covering the history of tarot and laying out the basics, but I wanted to know when the reader would get to the meat of …” read more…
“I’ll admit that when I first heard of this book, I was really skeptical. When it was published, I didn’t know Taylor, and I remember the calls that he was a sellout, a poser, and an idiot. That a book based on popular culture and …” read more…
“I have found the totemic answer to the “Teen Witch Kit.” There has been a recent fad ever since Silver Ravenwolf came out with her kit in 2004. A number of authors have come up with similar prefabricated spell kits, meditation kits, and similar “everything you need…” read more…
