The Short Version

Rending the Veil was created to fill a void. While The Witches’ Voice covers a great deal of ground with its articles and information, they are more geared to a neo-pagan audience. We define “neo-pagan,” in this case, as Wicca- and witch-focused, with emphasis on topics pertinent to practitioners of a nature reverent, God and Goddess centered, religious practice. Rending the Veil seeks to provide material for more esoteric and advanced forms of magic(k), including but not limited to Ceremonial Magick, Thelema, Chaos Magick, alchemy, Qabalah, alternative viewpoints (a rather broad umbrella term), neo-shamanism, mysticism, occult activities (lucid dreaming, etc.), and any other highly focused form of magic, whether strictly conforming to group paradigm (e.g. Thelema) or purely individualized, intuition based mysticism. Neo-pagan material is not unwelcome, in general, but if it’s better suited to Witchvox, we probably will refer you to them.

Rending the Veil is in the business of serving the magical community in the best way that a bunch of magicians and geeks winging it can accomplish. This is bound to include pitfalls, mistakes, and possibly even disasters, but we will strive to offer the highest quality material we can produce and solicit from fellow magicians. We aspire to be a permanent and extensive archive and resource site, offering quality content from experienced magicians and artisans.

About the Advertising, and Things to Come

After a great deal of consideration, we have elected to accept paid ads, but only from websites we consider to be genuinely useful to fellow magicians. This means that every site advertising on Rending the Veil has been personally checked out by one or more of our staff, and judged to be high quality and something that magicians will be happy to visit and patronize. We pledge only to offer ads that are worth your attention.

Optimally, we’d like this to be a site that makes money, as no one enjoys poverty, including the lot of us. But we will not sell, promote, advertise, or otherwise pimp anything other than high quality, interesting merchandise. We will eventually open a gallery where we, and various artists, will be selling art prints, photo prints, and other handcrafted (or based on handcrafted) items created by our contributors. We will be selling Rending the Veil merchandise. We may eventually offer paid accounts with special perks. But we will at all times strive to maintain a certain level of quality. If you are dissatisfied with anything that you receive via this site or via an advertisement posted on this site, contact us immediately, and we will do what we can to improve the situation, including banning advertisers who exhibit a lack of integrity in their offerings or their business practices.

As far as the Google Adsense ads go, we can only exercise so much control over what they feel is a match for us. If you see something being advertised on a Google ad that you find highly objectionable, please note the url and email it to us at admin@rendingtheveil.com and we will see about having the url blocked from the Google ads for this site.

All this is, of course, assuming we survive to see it happen. Here’s to the journey – we hope you’ll accompany us! May we all live long and prosper.
